There are a number of ways that WordPress can be installed.
I’m a big fan of making use of automated tools where they are available. I work for a company called Clook (if you need reliable web or email hosting give them a try). All their web hosting services have a useful tool called WordPress Toolkit installed which enables you to install WordPress with a couple of clicks of a mouse button (it also has many other useful features such as one-click staging, plugin installs, updates, etc.).
how to install WordPress using WordPress toolkit
- Load WP Toolkit
- Click the install button link
- Choose an Installation path. I’d recommend that you don’t install in a subfolder, i.e. keep the “Installation directory” field blank.
- Complete the rest of the fields
- Click the “Install” button
- Wait a few minutes for the installation to complete and you’ll then be able to log in to WordPress
